83 percent of DONG Energy’s power production in 2009 was thermal power plants of which the majority are fossil fuelled. The remainder came from hydro power and on- and offshore wind in:

  • Sweden
  • Great Britain 
  • France
  • Poland
  • Norway
 

Minimising environmental effects 

DONG Energy focuses on minimizing the environmental effects of electricity and heat production. Therefore many of our plants have a number of air pollution control systems, such as:

  • desulphurization plant – eliminates 90-98 % of the sulphurization from the waste gas.
  • DeNOx-plant – eliminates more than 80 % of the nitrogen oxid from the waste gas.
  • Ash eliminators – eliminates up to 99,9 % of the fly ash from the waste gas.
